Updates & channels

The desktop app checks for a new version after launch and occasionally while it runs. When one exists it offers Download, then Restart to install it. It never installs in the background or restarts itself while you work. Settings → Updates shows your version and what the update changes.

The Android app updates through Google Play.

Channels

Settings → Updates → Channel picks which builds this device follows. The choice is per device.

  • Stable. The default, and the right choice for almost everyone.
  • Beta. Release candidates on their way to stable.
  • Nightly. Built whenever the product changes. New features land here first, and so do new bugs.

Switching channel is a setting, not a reinstall. Moving to a slower channel keeps your current version until that channel catches up. If you installed with Homebrew, ai-celeris/tools/celeris@beta and ai-celeris/tools/celeris@nightly start you on those channels.

Updates between versions

Some improvements ship as data rather than a new version: new connectors, updates to installed connectors, guidance on when to use a tool, and the list of available models. Settings → Updates → Feeds shows what is installed and lets you turn automatic updates off. Each update is checked against a published fingerprint before it applies, and none of them can relax an approval rule or change where your requests are sent.
